SHIP GROUNDING

Following the grounding of the 48,000 dwt oil tanker, the MV Shanghai, off the Xiaohu Dao oil terminal in the Pearl River, I was appointed to provide Expert Witness Services to the vessel's owners regarding the safety of the port of Xiaohu Dao.

The work for the Client Morelia Overseas Inc included the investigation of causes of grounding incident, site inspection and meetings with Terminal�s Managers and Designers, GIS analysis of charts, mathematical modelling of tidal and river flows, the assessment of navigational factors, a review of Terminal design and dredging requirements, the statistics of vessels that have previously used the terminal, analyses of the safety of the port, a Report and giving Expert Evidence.
